Clearwell Becomes Offical Sponsor To Brighton & Hove Walking Football Club

Clearwell Mobility is pleased to announce that they have become the first official sponsors of the Brighton and Hove Walking Football Team. Clearwell have invested over £500 into Brighton’s first, dedicated walking football club, providing the funds to purchase a new strip for the team, training equipment and other items such as a pitch side first aid kit.

Clearwell’s Managing Director Duncan Gillett presented the new kit to the team at their regular Thursday training session at Moulsecoomb Leisure Centre, Brighton. Team head coach and founder Jobe Berrington said: “The game of walking football and the aims of Clearwell Mobility are very well matched – we are both enabling people from the older generation to be more active. Many of the players feel like it has given them a new lease of life by allowing them to enjoy playing the game that they love – albeit in a gentler form!”

When we first came across the idea of walking football we saw the obvious connections to our own business and wanted to get involved. Our ethos has always been to help people stay independent and active which is exactly what walking football is about. We wish the team luck and look forward to seeing them progress in the local tournaments and attract new members.”

The club, nicknamed ‘The Dolphins’, was established in August and took part in their first tournament in September. Jobe started the club after taking an interest in the sport but found there wasn’t a local team. “I was surprised that despite there being teams from Worthing, Bognor and Lancing – there wasn’t a team for Brighton.” Starting with just 12 players the team size has swelled to up to 30 members. The Dolphins take part in the “Albion In The Community” Walking Football tournaments every first Monday of the month against up to 8 other teams from the Sussex area.
