Jigsaw Charity receives £1,500
The Cradiden Masonic Lodge in Redhill has raised £1,500 for local family bereavement charity Jigsaw (South East), its nominated charity.
East Grinstead based charity Jigsaw (South East) has been given a substantial donation from the Cradiden Masonic Lodge in Redhill. The Master of the Lodge Ray Davey put forward Jigsaw (South East) because his family received direct support from the charity when his daughter, Emma King, lost her husband Adrian to cancer in 2011. She and her two children – Ray’s grandchildren – attended the charity’s six-week Family Grief Support Groups in Spring 2011.
“The help and support Jigsaw gave to our Grandchildren, William and Rebecca King, after the sad death of their father, was invaluable,” said Mr Davey. “They can now both speak quite openly about their father, without remorse and they both still treasure their memory boxes that they made at the Grief Support Groups.”
The Cradiden Masonic Lodge raised the money through various raffles and a very successful Ladies Weekend. An official cheque presentation will be made very soon. Based at East Court Mansion in East Grinstead since 2006, the charity offers support to children and young people who have a family member with a serious, life-limiting condition. It also provides grief support to children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant family member through illness, accident, suicide or murder (through groups in Epsom, Reigate and Guildford andEast Grinstead).
Nickey Price, Operations Manager, Jigsaw (South East) said: “We were delighted to have been selected by Ray and the Cradiden Masonic Lodge in Redhill and wish to extend our thanks to everyone involved. These valuable funds will enable us to continue working with children, young people and adults who have lost or are facing the loss of a loved one.”
