East Grinstead Mayor’s Ball At East Grinstead Sport’s Club
Cllr Nick Hodges has worked tirelessly over the past year for the local community and also his two chosen charities The East Grinstead Town Museum and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) are both set to benefit from the Ball.
CRY was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to sudden cardiac death in young and often apparently fit people. The charity works with cardiologists and family doctors to promote and protect the cardiac health of young people by establishing good practice and screening facilities devoted to significantly reducing the frequency of young sudden cardiac death throughout the UK.
The Town museum, which is housed on the site of the former cattle market in Cantelupe Road, started life in the tower of St Swithun’s church in December 1925. In June 2011 the Museum was a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for groups of volunteers who work in their local community for the benefit of others.
Tickets for the Ball are £40 per head and this includes a three-course meal, welcome drink, live entertainment and a disco until late. Sponsorship for the event is still being sought as are donations for the raffle and the auction.
