Perfect Property Reserved Without Even Viewing
Deborah Sandford knew it was time to sell up and move when her grown up children left home to go to University. Her 21 year old twins had flown the nest from the family home in Bath and it was time for Deborah to do the same. With a very clear view of her criteria for moving, Deborah knew she wanted to live close to the beach in a brand new home with a top floor bedroom suite. So when she found out that there was one property left in this particular style at the Barratt Homes development in Worthing, she paid a deposit without even going to have a look.
“I knew exactly what I wanted which made narrowing down my search quite easy.” Deborah says. “Firstly I knew I wanted to live by the coast in Worthing, where I had lived many years ago. Secondly I knew that I wanted a brand new home in a great location next to the train station and I also loved the idea of a top floor bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and dressing room. So as I had already sold my home, I did a bit of research and came across Cissbury Chase which seemed to tick all the boxes. I phoned and they told me there was one home of this style left. I think I might have shocked the Barratt sales person when I just decided to buy it right there on the phone.”
Deborah purchased a four bedroom semi-detached property at the Cissbury Chase development by Barratt Homes. A very well proportioned home; as well as the top floor master suite, the property offers two equal sized double bedrooms which Deborah will allocate one to each of her twins. In addition there is a spacious single bedroom which will be used for guests or as a study.
Deborah continues: “The property is just superb and the layout was just perfect for me and my family. I wanted somewhere my children could come back to but I also wanted a bit of space for me. My top floor bedroom is wonderful and I love the fact that this is my own space and even if the family comes to stay, this will always feel a bit separate. As well as having the ensuite shower room, it has so much storage space and so I knew I couldn’t risk missing out on this last property available.”
The home that Deborah bought was the last in the first phase of new properties at Cissbury Chase. Now well into its second phase, the development will continue to offer an attractive range of two, three and four bedroom homes – including apartments. Ideally located a five minute walk from Durrington on Sea train station, the development is well positioned for the coast, transport as well as a range of facilities nearby.
Sales director for Barratt Southern Counties, Lynnette St-Quintin comments: “Because of its very convenient location, Cissbury Chase is a development that appeals to many homebuyers. Allowing residents to walk to the local train station and to the coast within just a few minutes, Cissbury Chase is also very close to the shops and excellent fitness facilities.
This convenience combined with our attractive range of homes available which have been designed to suit many modern lifestyles, means that I am not surprised that Deborah was keen to secure the last property in the first phase.”
She adds: “The great thing about moving to a new development like this is that everyone is in the same situation and open to meeting the neighbours. We’ve had lots of parties and gatherings already and we look forward getting to know others who will move here too. Maybe it was a little bit mad to have bought without coming to visit first but it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Prices at Cissbury Chase currently start from £204,995 for a two bedroom home and range up to £309,995 for a four bedroom home. The government backed Help to Buy Scheme which only requires a 5 per cent deposit is available with all of the properties at Cissbury Chase.
