Smitten With Kittens?
A local charity is on the prowl for cat-loving volunteers to help support the team in its busy national media office. Cats Protection, which is based in the beautiful Ashdown Forest, in Chelwood Gate, Sussex, is keen to find experienced and computer-literate media office volunteers to help out with various tasks that will support the charity’s media team.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help with the following areas:
• A volunteer who will liaise with newspapers and magazines to promote the homing of Cats Protection cats in national pets homing columns and research story ideas via social media channels
“We’re looking for people with good organisational and communication skills who will enjoy working in a busy, open-plan office,” said media assistant Ellie Kenrick. “The roles are varied and we hope the right people will find them interesting. Days are flexible and of course we’ll work around your availability. According to the charity, the right candidate will have the opportunity to improve administration skills while getting a good introduction to media work. The office is accessible to all and out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Cats Protection’s national media office handles requests to and from TV, radio, magazines, newspapers and websites. It also supports the charity’s large network of branches and centres by providing advice and guidance. “We get a lot of satisfaction from raising the profile of unwanted cats so we’d love to hear from you if you would be interested in joining a friendly team committed to a worthwhile cause,” said Ellie.
Those interested in applying are invited to send their CV, along with a covering letter, to email@example.com by 9 April 2015.
