An Unusual Crowborugh Charity Concert In Aid Of Cancer Research UK

Friday 20th March, 7.30pm

This promises to be a great evening of music and film with all proceeds going to charity. You probably won’t often have the chance of seeing a mandolin orchestra, a recorder group and a specially commissioned film of local movie archive material all on the same evening but this will be such an occasion. The program will include a variety of music performed by the Brighton based, Fretful Federation Mandolin Orchestra and by Crowborough’s Recorder Relish. The evening will end with a performance of a unique composition by Esmeralda Conde Ruiz which was written to accompany 7 short pieces of film provided by Film Archive South East.

With footage mainly from the middle of the last century, including scenes of hop picking, beach holidays and eclipses, “the other ocean” is an invitation to feel, think and remember. It’s an atmospheric experience aimed to provoke different responses in different people.

Location: Crowborough Community Centre TN6 1FE
