The Waterlily Festival At Sheffield Park & Garden Returns This June And July

Saturday 8th June – Sunday 14th July

Sheffield Park’s famous lakes burst with colour during June and July and, to celebrate, their hugely successful Waterlily Festival will return with a series of workshops, guided tours, installations and more.

Get a unique view of the elegant waterlilies by walking out onto the floating pontoon, or join guides as you absorb their wealth of knowledge on a free tour to the bottom of Pulham Falls waterfall; a viewpoint not normally open to visitors of the popular National Trust property.

Families and young explorers will have the opportunity to learn the secrets of these ancient and beautiful plants that are so perfectly adapted to their aquatic home. Plus look out for origami waterlily making and fabulous floating installations on the lake.

Or for those visitors inspired by the serene waterlilies, then why not take the opportunity to embrace your creative side? Limited tickets are still available via the Sheffield Park website for the Waterlily Lino Printing or Photography Workshops.

Don’t forget to stop by the plant sales area where you can buy waterlilies and other aquatic plants to take home for your garden pond, or head to the shop for a selection of gifts and waterlily souvenirs including our hugely popular and exclusive waterlily tea towel and art print.

As Laura Booty, Sheffield Park and Garden’s General Manager commented, “The buzz of dragonflies over the fabulous floating carpet of waterlilies here at Sheffield Park really does just embody summertime for me. Whether you plan on joining in one of our events, or would rather enjoy a relaxing picnic on the banks of the lakes overlooking the blooms, then we look forward to sharing this natural spectacle and welcoming you to Sheffield Park.”

Free Waterlily Waterfall Walks

  • 13, 20, 27 June & 4, 11 July at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Waterfall Walks are a new edition to the festival this year. When the Pulham Falls are running, it’s quite a spectacle to be down next to it and visitors this year can take part in an exclusive opportunity to walk along the bottom of the waterfall as the water cascades down. Don’t worry, you won’t get wet, but you will get a different perspective on the falls and an appreciation for the Victorian engineering that still
pumps the water around the garden. Free but booking required.
